University 109

 

 University 109 will be a 6 storey mixed-use development with 94 rental units and 4150 square feet of retail space. Targeting LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification upon completion, the complex will incorporate various sustainability features including a living roof, electric vehicle charging stations, rainwater recycling, and a bike and car sharing program.

Situated in the highly desirable neighbourhood of McKernan, University 109 will be in close proximity to the University of Alberta, Whyte Avenue, the River Valley, McKernan-Belgravia LRT (Light Rail Transit) Station, and the Kinsmen Sports Centre.

Mature in age and centrally located, it is extremely challenging to acquire the land necessary to accommodate large scale development in the neighbourhood; however, Copperblock has closed on 6 contiguous lots that will be consolidated for the purposes of the project.
